Payment processors charge a fee each time a terminal with transactions is settled, or batched out. This fee varies from processor to processor, Host Merchant Services charges merchants a Batch Close Fee of only $0.20 per batch. This fee is not charged to a merchant’s account if there is no need to settle their terminal. For example, if no transactions are run on a particular day, then there is no charge for batching out a terminal since no authorizations need to be settled.
